Greenway Bike Trail Vienna-Prague
Length: Depending on the route, between 350 and 460km: for seasoned cyclists
There are many variations of this trip but this one was the first, long distance cycling trail going through the Czech Republic. Seasoned cyclists will enjoy riding the whole way from Vienna to Prague.
There is a great variety of landscapes along this route; winegrowing regions in Austria and South Moravia, the forested Podyji National Park, the Czech-Moravian highlands, and the many lakes near Telc. Enjoy the numerous castles and small quaint towns on the trail. History is everywhere. Then, of course, you have the justly famous Czech beer served in local taverns along the trail. It doesn’t get much better than this!
If you have time, definitely take a side trip to Cesky Krumlov and continue from there along the banks of the Vltava River to Prague.
